How to Ground using Crystals
What is grounding? How do I ground? If you are curious about grounding then this blog is for you!
Recently we have been asked about grounding, I am hoping this blog will make it clear what grounding is and how you can incorporate it into your life.
In the modern world it is so easy to be constantly focused on trying to get through the day. Life is busy and you are struggling to find time to care for your spiritual needs. Some of us struggle to stay connected, balanced and centered. If this is you, then grounding is incredibly important, I'll share what works for me.
What is Grounding?
Grounding is connecting back to the Earth almost like a reset. It is putting your negative energy back into the Earth. We should only keep hold of energy that is serving us right now. Grounding clears your mind and allows you to see your life clearly and allows you to be more in the present. When you are properly grounded it means your energy is balanced.
Why Do We Need To Be Grounded?
I believe in order to physically manifest what you want, you must be solidly grounded. Some physical symptoms of not being grounded include:
- Depression
- Fatigue
- Headaches
- Muscle Pain
- Insomnia
How to Practice Grounding?
Grounding can be as simple as having your feet on the ground and taking a few deep breaths. You can also hold a grounding crystal in your hand whilst doing this. You can also ground with reiki stones or tapping practices. There are many great ways to ground, however a great place to start is with crystals:
- Find a quite place where you won't be disturbed
- Choose a grounding crystal and hold in your hand
- Stand with your bare feet on the floor
- Have your hand on your hips
- Close your eyes
- Visualise the negative energy flowing down to your feet and into the Earth
- Hold for 5 minutes or until you feel less heavy
Don't worry if you find it difficult at first. You maybe thinking about other things and find it difficult to concentrate, if you struggle with this just let the thought pass.
What about Earthing?
Another great thing to do is Earthing in order to stay grounded and balanced. This involves skin to Earth contact, picking up the Earth's natural plethora of negative ions. Because most of us are almost always in shoes, your feet don't get to touch the Earth and pick up the negative ions that our great planet provides plenty of!
All you need to do to ground is walk around barefoot on the Earth. If you find it too cold you can also go and hug a tree with your bare hands. That makes the same grounding circuit with the Earth.
When Should I Ground:
Grounding can be done anytime. Ground when everything feels a bit too much, when you are feeling stressed or when you are struggling with control.

- Red Jasper
- Citrine
- Hematite
- Black Tourmaline
